Marian Cope, RIMS-CRMP, is an attorney with over 20 years of experience advising clients about risks and risk responses that can stimulate or preserve value. Throughout her career, Ms. Cope has held a variety of legal and risk management positions. She currently has her own consulting firm, CopeRisk LLC, which is based in Southwestern CT and focuses on Strategic Risk Management (including Operational Risk Management and the strategic use of insurance).
Previously, Ms. Cope led the insurance risk management division at New York Life ("NYL"); was an Assoc. Gen. Counsel in NYL's Office of the General Counsel; formed and headed the Healthcare Legal and Risk Management Departments for a national physician practice management company; was General Counsel for a Level 1 Trauma Center in New York City; and represented New York City and its agencies at the appellate and trial court levels.
Ms. Cope is a director for the Fairfield/Westchester Chapter of RIMS and an advisor to, and a recent former President and Director of, the RIMS NY Chapter.
